A car rental boomThe city of Boise is home to more than 4,000 car rental companies, with many of them operating from multiple locations, Anderson says.
It’s also a hub for car leasing, as it’s the second largest market for leasing vehicles after the San Francisco Bay Area.
“Boise is a pretty big city, and it has so many different car rental providers, and a lot of them are very small,” Anderson says, noting that there’s also an abundance of vehicles.
“It’s very hard to find a rental company that’s not affiliated with a car dealership.”
Car rental companies are also finding a new way to get people to come to their locations.
In a recent article in the Idaho Statesman, Boise’s chief city planner, Mike Riddle, said the city will start providing driver education and training to new drivers, which will help them better understand their responsibilities.
Riddle said he was looking for “the most skilled and experienced” drivers to come in, and said Boise would work with CarRenters.
He also said Boise is a great place to rent a car because of the proximity to the airport.
The company’s new website says its drivers will “provide a one-stop-shop for all of your car rental needs.”
