A new study has revealed which car rental companies are the best for renting out your car and where to park it in your favourite suburb.
The research found the average price of a car rental in Sydney and Melbourne was $1,947, while Brisbane’s average was $2,858.
The study, published in the Australian Business Review, also found the cheapest car rental across the country was in the ACT, which had the highest average car rental price at $1.2 million.
The report also found that car rental prices in Sydney were lower than those in Melbourne, while in Brisbane the average was higher than the ACT average.
It was revealed that the median age of car rental applicants in the Canberra region was 44 and in Sydney the median was 53.
The highest car rental costs were in Sydney’s outer suburbs, where the median car rental cost was $732, compared to $531 in the inner suburbs.
Sydney’s average rental price was $926 for a four-bed apartment, while the median price for a three-bed rental was $895.
In Brisbane, the median rental price for four-bedroom apartments was $940, while three-bedroom rentals in the city were $840.
The average car cost in Canberra was $3,958, compared with $4,824 in Sydney.
